More on the benefits of working with Locala
Flexible Working
Locala supports our colleagues to achieve a good work life balance with flexible working schemes and family friendly policies.
A variety of flexible working patterns/options are available to you, including an annual “options” scheme giving you the choice of annualised hours, compressed hours, term-time working or buying or selling annual leave; all based around the needs of you and your service.
Your pension and pay
Our pay grades are in line with NHS Agenda for Change and we’ve teamed up with Royal London, the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company to create a pension scheme that helps ensure our colleagues’ future financial security. You will automatically be enrolled with a 3% default contribution rate (although you can contribute more), and Locala will match your contribution +2% (up to 8%). Find out more on the Locala website pension page.
Support for your health and wellbeing
Along with our high-quality patient care, we place a high value on support for your health and wellbeing. FIVE, our colleague health and wellbeing programme, is at the heart of that support. We offer a range of initiatives including an Employee Assistance Programme available 24/7; Mental Health First Aiders; a Wellbeing Fund to support teams; a Menopause Policy, support and courses; as well as our Occupational Health Service. Our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian also works to create an environment where colleagues are encouraged and enabled to speak up safely, supporting Locala to be an open place to work.
Locala as a social enterprise
As a not-for-profit social enterprise our Members are the driving force for positive change and play an active role in shaping our services. All colleagues become Members of Locala giving you a say in key decisions through individual votes, the work of our Members Council and our Annual Members Meeting. We put recognition at the heart of our work through initiatives such as our annual awards night, monthly colleague award (Locala’s Standing Ovation Award) and our annual Colleague Reward Scheme.
Locala’s Inclusivity Networks
Our Inclusivity Networks (Disabilities and Long Term conditions , LGBTQ+ and Race Equality Network ) aim to provide an inclusive environment which supports growth and well being for both our colleagues and patients. Understanding and valuing lived experiences and implementing the reverse mentoring programme are helping promote understanding of the need to tackle health inequalities and provide quality care for all.
